The Palm Beach County School District Elementary Mathematics, Science, and STEM Fair is the highest level of competition for grades K-5. Projects are displayed for viewing by the public. The results of the judging will be announced at the participating schools the week after the Fair.

The 2007-2012 Roadmap to Florida’s Future has identified the need to strengthen PreK-12 math and science education, and in 2009, the state created a Florida STEM Council to focus on STEM education in partnership with workforce, commerce and education groups.
STEM Day is an outreach activity for 6th -12th grade students, designed to increase their interest in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, and to highlight the various STEM activities taking place on FAMU’s campus.

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced $1 million in proposed funding to partner with high-tech companies in Florida to create a paid summer residency program for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) teachers to bring new industry trends in STEM fields back to Florida’s K-12 classrooms. The MS in Biology for STEM Educators is a 15 month, 30 credit hour program designed to provide graduate level classroom and laboratory instruction in the biological sciences for STEM educators. The program is aimed for students who wish to acquire the biology credentials required to teach Dual Enrollment biology courses in high schools, as well as lower level college/university courses in the biological sciences. The program is blended, featuring online and on-campus laboratory assignments, research projects, and a capstone project.
Florida NEF STEM is a hub for Science and Technology Innovation by providing support for the improvement of teaching and learning in STEM through research, pedagogical activities, and partnerships.

The STEM LLC is open to students of the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering. Students in this LLC will live in Presidents Hall and participate in activities designed to help STEM students succeed at UWF. STEM LLC students will build lifelong friendships by supporting each other throughout the college experience. In addition, students will have the opportunity to get to know faculty mentors outside the classroom, gain valuable leadership and interpersonal skills through weekly educational programs, participate in specialized tutoring and study nights for STEM courses and interact and receive guidance from upperclassmen.

The STEM Undergraduate Research Symposium is a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate students to showcase their research and network with other undergraduate researchers from across 12 colleges and universities. Past symposium winners and presenters, graduate schools, and science industries will be present at the Symposium. The State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida is a three-day display of science project exhibits prepared by aspiring scientists and engineers in grades six through twelve. More than 900 Finalists display projects illustrating their research in competition of awards.
For the ninth year in a row AT&T is partnering with the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations to support student achievement in STEM areas. The CFEF received $96,450 to provide $2,000 grants to local education foundations to create real-world, hands-on learning experiences in the classroom to connect students with actual STEM professionals and careers through AT&T funding.

The STEM Alliance of Central Florida and Team Orlando member, The Corridor, are working to grow and develop STEM support and resources for schools in Florida through stemCONNECT, a web portal designed to assist teachers and students in learning more about the high tech industries in Florida. It directly connects them with STEM experts who can share their knowledge about high tech career fields over an interactive web video conference.
