Amidst a growing STEM-focus across the education landscape, Granite State College and key partners have secured federal funding to help New Hampshire school districts better connect educators to the rich expertise that school librarians have in STEM areas.
New Hampshire Scholars is a community-based program that encourages students to take a more rigorous Core Course of Study in high school. It is based on a partnership between a community’s local business leaders and its school district. New Hampshire Scholars is federally-funded through the New Hampshire Department of Education.
The New Hampshire Scholars program is part of the State Scholars Initiative, a national program that encourages and motivates all high school students to complete a rigorous course of study that prepares them for a successful transition to college coursework or technical training necessary to enter today's job market. There are three types (pathways) of NH Scholars distinctions: NH Scholars core distinction, NH Scholars - STEM Emphasis and NH Scholars - Arts Emphasis.

LetGoYourMind Summer STEM Programs offer structured day programs where kids can experiment with LEGO bricks, and learn the basics of design and engineering while having a blast! Our summer programs run for one week long, Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 3 PM. We offer separate classes for children of all ages to ensure that learning occurs and students are engaged.
Information on pre-college STEM related programs available within New Hampshire are provided as a resource to our section members. We structured the information into Programs for Participants, Resources for Educators and Volunteers and Resources for Parents, which includes activities for preschoolers and at home learners. In addition, we are providing a reference to The Ultimate STEM Guide for Kids, which provides resources beyond New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are bringing STEM in the Stadium Day directly to you! With help from our friends at WMUR, SNHU, Wildlife Encounters, NH Audobon, Blue Ocean Society, and more, we're sharing some of the most fun-filled educational videos New Hampshire has to offer. STEM in the Stadium is one of our favorite days of the season, and we can't wait to get back to the ballpark, where students can explore all the events and educational booths throughout the stadium concourse during the game.
Following the move into our new space in Littleton at the end of 2018, WMSI settled in over the past year at 23 Ammonoosuc St, bringing creative problem solving and STEM education through programs both tried and new. Several local schools and organizations made WMSI’s MakerSpace their field trip destination, while our biggest summer camp season yet brought many all-new camp themes to our K-6th grade campers. Our teacher professional development workshops expanded to include the regional CS North summit, which brought educators together from all across northern New Hampshire. 2019 saw WMSI grow through Strategic Planning, where staff and board members came together to map out WMSI’s plan to become New England’s STEM idea source. Through it all, WMSI’s Mobile STEM Lab and off-site professional development programs continued their operations and expansion, bringing 21st century skills to over 500 students throughout the region.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills are in high demand by employers. WMCC offers several programs directed at local youth in order to promote the study of these skills.
The eStart Scholarship Program is designed to assist students who would not be able to take a course through the eStart Program without this financial assistance. Scholarship applicants must be economically disadvantaged and have a clear financial need (examples include: eligible for the federal free/reduced lunch program, currently receiving other forms of financial assistance, or experiencing other economic hardship, etc.).
