Applications Open for Third Annual South Carolina STEM Signing Day

igh school seniors in South Carolina who are interested in pursuing a career in the STEM field can now apply to be a part of the third annual South Carolina STEM Signing Day, presented by Boeing, BMW, and the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance. This STEM Signing Day, powered by Tallo, recognizes and celebrates the next generation of STEM talent from around the state. Just like college signing days for athletes, students will sign a letter of intent to pursue a two- or four-year degree in the STEM field after high school.

Blythewood teacher named STEM Educator of the Year

Warren Wise didn’t plan to become a teacher, but his career detour — now in its 16th year — has proven to be a successful path. Mount Pleasant startup STEM Premier lands $9 million from for-profit education company

The Mount Pleasant startup STEM Premier, which helps high school students pair up with colleges and employers, has raised $9 million from an online education company. The new investment comes from K12 Inc., a for-profit group that runs online public schools across the country. The company plans to fold STEM Premier’s technology into its career-training programs, in a bid to get students in front of recruiters in construction, health care, IT and manufacturing.

South Carolina high school seniors were recognized at the 3rd Annual S.C. STEM Signing Day by Boeing South Carolina, BMW, and the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance.
